A guayabera (goo-ah-ya-bear-ah) shirt is the traditional Cuban shirt which can be worn a number of different ways. It is also known as the Mexican wedding shirt. Through its long and rich history, the guayabera shirt has grown to be adaptable to any occasion. This cool and lightweight garment can be worn casually, for formal events (weddings) or as business attire, as is the case throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Guayaberas can also be worn as company uniforms or to company events.

The shirt, which comes in short sleeves (casual) and long sleeves (formal), is traditionally sown with classical pleats running vertically along the front and back. It has four pockets in the front; two on the chest and two at the bottom. The shirt’s square hemmed bottom is designed to be worn outside the pants.
